Charlie Plummer looks set to become the next big star of the American indie film scene after being cast in British director Andrew Haigh's new film Lean On Pete.

The 17 year old actor will play the lead in the drama - a passion project for acclaimed 45 Years director Haigh - next to Steve Buscemi and Chloƫ Sevigny, starring as a teenager with no stability in his life who ends up homeless and befriends a failing racehorse named Lean on Pete. Plummer's previous project, coming-of-age drama King Jack, won the Audience Award at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2015 and he recently wrapped filming on The Dinner, also starring Richard Gere and Laura Linney.
